Lockdown Diaries: 5 Ways to Stay Productive With Work From Home

If you're still working from home and haven't found your groove yet like me then here are some tips to get you through and feeling productive.

Your day at home will definitely not be like your day at your workplace but that doesn't mean it will be less productive. 

Video call a work mate. 

Call it a meeting. Seriously. Pick two work related things you need to chat about and hop on a call. You'll be surprised at how positively productive your day can get with the right kind of work meeting. Sharing ideas and working together makes for the greatest team work! Get your productive on! 



Background music. 

Drown out any background noise with a good playlist. Hop onto Spotify or whatever streaming service you love and get together a productive playlist, of songs that really help you get into your work task. The radio may also be a good distraction that helps you in the background. 



One task at a time. 

Don't attempt to do a million things at once. You might feel like you're saving time but the lack of attention may get you into hot water. Take your time and focus on what you're doing to give it your best. Take regular breaks if you can and really be present in your moments! Work from home does not need to be stressful so avoid multitasking. 


 
Adjust your times but stick to a routine workday

Stick to your morning routine. If you're an office gal then why not pop on some lipstick, you might not need a full face if you don't have any Zoom meetings scheduled. But feeling pretty and comfortable helps you set the right attitude for the day. Stick to regular schedules like eating breakfast and getting a workout in but don't feel pressured into sticking to this all the time. Listen to your body. Sleep in some days if your work allows you to start and end a little later in the day to allow yourself some freedom when you're feeling down. Remember, it's okay not to be okay some days. 



Eat the right kind of foods. 

Nuts, blueberries, broccoli and fatty fish are powerful brain foods. They give you enough energy and thinking capacity to enable your brain to be at it's optimum. These foods assist with brain power, memory and thinking capacity. Don't forget to add in some on the daily to help you perform at your peak and stay productive!
