4 Work Outfit Tricks

Since transitioning to a corporate/more formal work environment, that required actual pants; I've had my struggles with putting outfits together. We aren't completely "hip" or put together every single day that we go into work and with the 2020 pandemic, we find ourselves more in sweats and PJ's than ever. Needlessly to say it's been a struggle as time goes by. 

Here are 4 things to help your work outfit journey:

1 "Matchies"

A little matching when it comes to outfits cannot hurt! In fact, it's complimentary. Focus on matching your accessories colours to one piece of clothing. If you're wearing pink pants then opt for pink tassel earrings! If you're doing a black top or blouse then opt to pair it with black shoes; heels or other. Try it! You'll fake being put together when you're simply thinking of your colours! 

2. Tuck

Tuck your blouse into your pants slightly. You look less frumpy and it gives your body a bit more length and shape. It looks smart and professional. Merely un-tuck at the end of the day if you're going for a more relaxed look. 

3. Statement look

If you struggle getting ready for whatever reason in the morning, then opt for focus on one feature. If your hair is too greasy and you can't stand the thought of wash, dry, set at 6am then focus on your outfit or make-up and put in a little more effort there instead. No one will notice your hair if you don on some statement red lipstick. 

4. Uniform

For those quick days where you don't have the time to think and put an outfit together in the morning you can consider pairing pieces together to create pre-done outfits for later use. Put it on and take a picture to refer for later. 

5. The Holy Grail Pair of Jeans

Splurge on a single pair of jeans that you can pair with any top or blouse in your wardrobe. This piece of clothing should be your ultimate "go-to" . 

Side Note: Clean out your closet! Pick a weekend and clean out your closet. Get rid of everything that does not fit or doesn't make you happy to wear.
